During the cutting process the blade of your knife does not interact with a solid surface, like when cutting on a glass board, but instead gently and slightly cuts into the elastic material of the board thus protecting your knife from damage.

Unlike other lower quality plastics on the market, our deliberate use of polyurethane means that cutting will not blunt your blade or damage the board, a too often missing combination in many chopping boards.
